A Homemade Valentines

I love any excuse for a celebration, especially at the dog end of winter and we decided we’d celebrate Valentines today rather than tomorrow when we’ll be at work or nursery

First we had potato print wrapping paper

And homemade presents

We traced Leah’s fabulous portrait of David onto baking parchment and then drew through it with a pencil onto a piece of linen. Then I outlined the pencil with embroidery thread and stitched the linen onto a t-shirt with help from Eve. The idea comes from The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule.

David loved it and Leah felt very proud seeing her drawing turned into clothing.

And a book about Chagall for me

And homemade decorations

And cards

And a cake. The recipe is in the Eating section of this blog.

And the day wouldn’t be complete without flowers.

Happy Valentines to all our family and friends.
