Only the red ones

In April and May we sowed courgettes and tomatoes

Now we have lots and lots and lots of yellow courgettes. It’s so true that two courgette plants will produce enough courgettes for a family of four

And the tomatoes? Well, they grew and grew and then Leah excitedly presented us with two buckets full of tiny, hard green balls.

Now every time she goes outside she’s accompanied by a chorus of “only the red ones“. She repeats this back to us like a catchphrase and we watch the few survivors turn amber. Their scarcity will make them more delicious.
